1. really

really（副詞） ， 意為“真正地” ， 其形容詞為real ， “真的 ， 真正的” 。

real與true都表示“真實”

① real真實的 ， 實在的 ， 表示實際存在的意義：the real thing 真貨

② true真的 ， 指故事、消息、信息與事實相符 ， 不是假的 。

e.g. The news istrue. 這消息是真的 。

2. cup

cup（可數(shù)名詞） ， 意為“杯子” 。

glass玻璃杯 cup 小茶杯 mug大茶缸

3. another

another意為“另一個 ， 再一個” ， 后接可數(shù)名詞單數(shù) ， 通常泛指三個或三個以上中的任何一個人或物 。

e.g. Would you likeanother cup of tea？ 你要再來一杯茶嗎？

This pair of shoes is too small for me. Pleaseshow me another pair？

這雙鞋我穿太小了 ， 請再給我拿一雙 。

another 基數(shù)詞 名詞復(fù)數(shù) = 基數(shù)詞 more 名詞復(fù)數(shù) ， 意為“再來......個” 。

e.g. We need anotherfive desks. = We need five more desks.

我們還需要5張課桌 。

another ， the other ， other ， others與the others

① another泛指“三個或三個以上”中的“另一個” ， 后接可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)；也可用作代詞 。

② the other指“兩個”之中的“另一個” ， 是特指 。常用在one ... the other ...結(jié)構(gòu)中 ， 表示“一個...... ， 另一個......” 。

③ other意為“別的；其他的” ， 其后接可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù) 。

④ others用作代詞 ， 泛指“其他的人或物” ， 相當(dāng)于“other 可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)” 。some ... others ... 意為“有的...... ， 有的......” 。

⑤ the others特指一個整體內(nèi)的“其他全部的人或物” ， 相當(dāng)于“the other 可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)” 。

e.g. We need anotherchair. 我們還需要一把椅子 。

I don’t like this skirt. Please show me another.

我不喜歡這條裙子 。請給我看另一條 。

He has twosisters. One is Lily and the other is Lisa.

他有兩個姐姐 。一個叫莉莉 ， 另一個叫麗薩 。

You shouldthink of others. 你應(yīng)該多為他人著想 。

The studentsare doing the cleaning. Some are cleaning the windows ， and others are wiping the floor. 學(xué)生們正在打掃衛(wèi)生 。有的在擦窗戶 ， 有的在擦地板 。

There are fiftystudents in our class. Thirty of us are boys ， and the othersare girls.

我們班有50名學(xué)生 。30名是男生 ， 其余的是女生 。

4. break

break（動詞） ， 意為“（使）破 ， 碎；打破（記錄）” 。過去式為broke 。

e.g. The boy brokethe window this morning. 今天早上這個男孩打破了窗戶 。

break the record 打破記錄

① break用作不及物動詞 ， 意為“破；碎；裂” 。

e.g. The glass broke. 玻璃碎了 。

② break（可數(shù)名詞） ， 意為“暫停；休息；休息時間” 。

take/have a break 休息一會兒

e.g. There is aten-minute break between the classes.

課間有十分鐘的休息時間 。

③ break into 強行進入；闖入 break off 中斷說話 break down 出故障
